What is our mission?

The Ohio Region 3 Rescue Strike Team (R3RST) is dedicated to providing highly skilled planning and response to Technical Rescue Events.

R3RST responds to calls for the following emergency situations:

Lost Persons Search (in any terrain -- urban, suburban, wilderness,)

Technical Rescues from collapsed structures, confined spaces, high angles, machinery, trench collapse and water.
R3RST maintains strict levels of training and readiness for these emergency situations and is prepared to respond to unusual technical rescue calls within Ohio Homeland Security Region 3
The Team is activated and conducts operations at the request of the jurisdiction having authority for the particular emergency situation. The R3RST is alerted by the Regional Rescue Coordination Center  (937) 333-USAR which sets in motion appropriate Regional Mutual Aid Resources and Advance Team Members. R3RST members have an extensive text paging system that quickly alerts members as to the nature of the call, the response needed and staging information. The Region 3 Rescue Strike Team is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our Sponsoring Agencies

The Ohio Region 3 Rescue Strike Team is sponsored by the Miami Valley Fire/EMS Alliance. The Alliance is a Regional Council of Governments with twenty local member departments in Greene and Montgomery Counties. In addition, there are three Associate Member fire departments from outside the Miami Valley and another three Affiliate Members who do not qualify for Full Board Membership. The Alliance offices and staff provide oversight to the Regional Rescue Program along with accounting and auditing services.
