What will fire inspectors look for?

1. Fire exits signs clearly visible, illuminated, and clear of any obstacles
2. Fire exit doors which are unlocked and unobstructed
3. No obstacles to means of egress from the building (Hallways which are clear and provide an exit pathway to occupants)
4. Storage neat and at least 18 inches from sprinkler heads
5. Fire extinguishers inspected within one year, appropriate for the hazards, marked and labeled, mounted appropriately, and free from obstructions
6. Good general housekeeping (no trash or combustibles haphazardly stored or stored under staircases)
7. Other applicable items based on use and occupancy
