Lieutenant Jack H. Hood has been in the Fire Service for 14 years. He started as a member of the Cranberry Township Volunteer Ambulance Corp in Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the PAXAR - Fire brigade. He moved back to Dayton area in 1992 and was hired by MTFD in 1996. He served as Lead Fire Fighter at Station 47 for 2 years. He then was promoted to Part-Time Lieutenants position for Station 47. He continues to hold that position today. He is also held certifications as is a member of SOG, Water, and Vehicle Extrication and Rope Rescue teams.
Outside of the fire service Jack has also held various positions at Monarch Marking / PAXAR–Americas for 31+ years. He started out as a Field Service Representative – Akron & Cleveland, OH, then was promoted and transferred to Detroit, MI as the Detroit Service Office Group Leader. Again he was promoted and transferred to Dayton, OH as a Product Technician & then as a Product Support Manager. In 1989 he was promoted and transferred to Pittsburgh, PA as the District Field Service Manager position. After 3 years in Pittsburgh he was transferred back to Dayton, OH and has held the following positions: 1. Manager-Electronic Repair Center 2. Manager-Preventative Maintenance Billing Department. 3. Manager-National Repair Facility. 4. Manager- IPS Corporate Assembly. And most recently, he holds the position of Safety, Security and Environmental Manager for the Miamisburg OH facility. He also sits as a co-chair of South Dayton Chamber of Commerce Business Corridors group.
